WHY SHOULD I USE BookLocker INSTEAD OF SOMEBODY ELSE?
-Family owned and operated on Florida’s beautiful gulf coast – a U.S. company
BookLocker is a family-owned and -run business. All authors work directly with one person during the publishing process – Angela (for print books), Richard (for ebooks) and Gwen (for color-interior books).
- One-on-one relationship with authors
Since we reject most manuscripts, we are able to devote individual attention to each and every BookLocker author.
- No third world country operators, call-centers, or salespeople
Unlike many of our competitors, BookLocker does not farm out work to third-world countries. With the exception of Gwen, our talented color-interior book designer in Canada, all our employees and contractors are located in the United States.
- An industry leader – One of the original P.O.D. publishers with 5,000+ books published in 15 years – and still going strong!
BookLocker.com has published more than 5,000 books, and has been given the highest rating (“Outstanding”) by attorney Mark Levine in his book, The Fine Print of Self Publishing, which rates the contracts and services of Print on Demand companies.
Here’s what Mark Levine says about BookLocker.com:
“As close to perfection as you’re going to find in the world of ebook and POD publishing. The ebook royalties are the highest I’ve ever seen, and the print royalties are better than average. BookLocker understands what new authors experience, and have put together a package that is the best in the business. You can’t go wrong here. Plus, they’re selective and won’t publish any manuscript just because it’s accompanied by a $199 check. Also, the web site is well trafficked. If you can find a POD or epublisher with as much integrity and dedication to selling authors’ books, but with lower POD publishing fees, please let me know.”
- Fighting for the rights of indie authors!
BookLocker sued Amazon back in 2008 – and won. BookLocker’s books remain on Amazon due to the agreement Amazon signed. (Amazon also had to pay BookLocker’s attorneys $300K.) You can read about the case HERE.
- Angela Hoy fights for the rights of freelance writers.
BookLocker.com is the parent company of WritersWeekly.com. The publisher, Angela Hoy (one of BookLocker’s owners), has been fighting for the rights of writers since 1997.
